i was just a child
when i used to look up
into the heavens
and they were always there
a vast field of stars
like a river of dreams
now i look again
and see only a handful
of these bright lights
and these jewels in the night sky
they still stare down upon me
from where they are
calling me
seducing me
wanting for me to chase them
before they all disappear.
